Why Have An Engagement Session?

Having an engagement session is beneficial for a number of reasons. Not only is it a great chance to capture your unique love and relationship prior to your wedding day, it can also provide you with a good idea of what to expect on the big day. One of the best parts about this is that it can often make you feel just that little bit more confident in front of the camera on your special day. I have found that engagement sessions can help tremendously in achieving stunning wedding photos because at the engagement session you will become familiar with the best way to stand and pose for your photographs.

Your engagement session can be as fun and elaborate, or relaxed and intimate as you like; it is all about you and the unique love the two of you share.

An engagement session is also the perfect opportunity for us to get to know each other better and for you to become familiar with me and how I work as a photographer. It’s also the ideal time for you to get an idea of what you might like for your wedding photos, or to let me know of any specific photos you have imagined from your day. We can discuss things like the best timing for the day, any special relationships you may wish to include in your photography, and whether there are any meaningful locations that you would like to include on the day.

Take a look at some of the engagement sessions on the blog for an idea of what I can offer for your session.

Here is some lovely feedback that I received from one of my recent engagement sessions:

Hi Jen,

“Just wanted to write you a little email to say that we just received your photo USB and we LOVE our engagement photos! Thank you so much for your patience with us on the day and dealing with our initial awkwardness.  We are very thankful that we had an engagement shoot and you were able to help us ‘act natural’ in front of a camera lens.  We were super stoked with how they turned out and can’t wait for you to photograph our special day… so thank you!” Katherine
