Sunshine Coast Elopement Wedding
The Sunshine Coast emits that easy breezy vibe that resonates so well with an elopement wedding. Whether you choose to say I do in an intimate just-the-two-of-you ceremony with sand between your toes, or beneath an old tree surrounded by rolling green hills with just your closest friends and family present, the Sunshine Coast can deliver your perfect fuss-free elopement wedding.
With its tropical atmosphere and sophisticated style, Noosa is a popular choice for lovers looking for a beach elopement with a touch of elegance.
Noosa Main Beach is a superb place to start, with its sparkling crescent of sand and verdant National Park as a backdrop, the dreamy setting makes for stunning wedding photos.
Stylish restaurants and lavish resorts aren’t in short supply, with the famed Hastings Street sitting pretty in an adjacent beachside location. The trendy street is a great base for an elopement with everything, from your accommodation, ceremony location, and a ‘reception’ venue all within walking distance. Humming with options, from swank beachfront restaurants like Sails and Bistro C, to cosy options like Locale, finding the perfect venue for your celebration dinner will be a piece of cake.
From Hastings Street you can explore the National Park, take a secluded dip at picturesque Tea Tree Bay, or head over to the less popular, but no less stylish, Noosa River.
The Noosa area also has a great selection of local celebrants specialising in beachside elopement weddings.
Sunshine Coast Hinterland Elopements
Take a string of cute country towns, add grassy knolls and quaint dirt lanes, throw in a choice of luxury accommodations and a charming country cottage or two, and what do you have? An ideal location for an elopement wedding, aka, the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.
It doesn’t get more romantic than standing beneath a grand old tree, surrounded by rolling hills bathed in the soft glow of sunset, as you promise to love someone for the rest of your life. And there are more locations depicting this exact scene in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland than I care to count. All you have to do is choose one.
You can’t go wrong with either Montville or Maleny. Each has it’s own unique ambience and a plethora of stunning wedding locations to choose from. Both towns have a variety of accommodation options to suit any elopement style, whether you’re looking for a luxurious stay or a cute country cottage to escape to. The renowned Spicers retreats are an indulgent option while Montville Country Cabins offer that charming rustic country style.
With the main street of Montville surprisingly bustling and modish, you won’t struggle to find a chic restaurant for a celebratory dinner with your elopement party, or a quiet table for two to revel in the occasion. Flaxton Gardens is perfect for loved-up couples looking for an intimate celebration, while Spicers Tamarind or Spicers Clovely Estate are superb options for a small group celebration dinner.
The Hinterland is also home to a wide variety of local celebrants, whether you’re looking for a fun and light-hearted ceremony or a no-fuss quick and easy service.
Pt Cartwright Elopements
Point Cartwright is one of those hidden gems that Sunshine Coast locals love but don’t want to rave about just in case people catch on and its secluded-beach feel is swept away with the tide.
Just 10 minutes from Mooloolaba and brimming with picture-perfect locations – think wide open beaches, rocky outcrops, an impressive headland, and plenty of lush grassy areas – this is one elopement destination that is often overlooked. Point Cartwright is a fantastic option for couples looking for a secluded, private beach where they can escape in true elopement style.
With the popular beach town of Mooloolaba just down the road, you can have your cake and eat it too. Bustling with everything from high-end restaurants to cute mum-and-dad shacks, finding the ideal restaurant for your all-important post-wedding celebrations won’t be hard. Or, you could book a table at one of my all-time favourite restaurants, The Green Zebra, for a stunning outlook over the Mooloolah River.
